Lena Prejean

Lena Prejean was born and raised in Newark NJ on Febuary 27th, 1922 to Italian immigrants Michael & Maria DeSanto. She then later moved to Edison where she raised three of four of her children and met Joseph Prejean, her late husband.

Lena and Joseph moved to Manville, NJ where they raised their daughter, Michele. She resided there for over 20 years where she worked as a wirer bonder for Seimens. Retiring from Seimens in 1983, Lena and her husband moved to LaBelle Florida and lived there for over 25 years. In 2010 Lena and Joseph moved back to New Jersey where they resided with their daughter Michele Ogletree and her family in Somerville for over 3 years.

Lena loved to shop and go out to eat. Some of her favorite foods were pizza and pasta. She was a member of the Garretson Road Church of Christ in Bridgewater, NJ. Lena was happiest when surrounded by her family who she loved dearly.

Lena was predeceased by her brother Tony, sister Lucielle, husband Joseph Prejean,and daughter Florence Shephard. She is survived by her Daughters Marie Sadowski (Ben), Michele Ogletree (George) and son Anthony Longo. Lena has 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren,and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Visititation will begin 10am on Wednesday, August 26, concluding with a Funeral Service at 11am at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. Interment to follow at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
