Kevin Charles Walter entered eternal rest under hospice care on August 26, 2023 in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Born in Somerville, NJ in 1955, Kevin enjoyed cooking and was considered a culinary expert. He loved traveling the world and cross-country trips with his friends and his beloved Brittany Spaniel, Toby. He loved to wine & dine - He had a fabulous joke de vivre !!! He was an avid golfer and was a tough competitor on the course. Kevin was a diehard New York Giants fan, spending Sundays with friends yelling at the TV. Kevin was employed for 38 years with the Somerset County Public Works Department in the traffic division, rising to supervisor before his retirement in 2013. It was there that he met his first wife, Donna McClear-Walter and they enjoyed 31 happy years together traveling to their timeshare in Florida and Cape Cod until Donna’s death in 2017. Kevin loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends and was an active longtime member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 12 Somerville, the Somerville Elks 1068, the “Over the Hill Gang of Somerville”, and the American Legion Post 164 of Boynton Beach, FL. Kevin graduated from Immaculata High School in 1973 and was looking forward to attending his 50th class reunion in late October of this year before his passing .
In 2018, Kevin married his present wife, Amy Faxon-Walter and together they relocated to Boynton Beach, FL these last five years with their four pugs - Luca, Mabelline, Oscar & Tierney and Kevin’s beloved best friend Great Dane Charlie.
He was sharp as a tack with a wonderful sense of humor and had an incredible photographic memory for endless actors, films and history. He was loyal, true and an amazing loving and devoted husband and gentleman.
Kevin was pre-deceased by his wife Donna, father Charles, mother Alice (Murphy) both of Somerville, sister Laura of Somerville and brother Stephen of Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his wife Amy Faxon-Walter of Boynton Beach, FL, sister-in-law Lisa Faxon Intili of Belvidere, NJ, brother-in-law George Faxon of Branchburg, NJ, sister-in-law Lynn Faxon- Sausto of Absecon, NJ, sister-in-law Ann Faxon- Adams of Brigantine, NJ, sister Christine Walter and husband Michael Milewski, niece Sarah and husband Will Suozzo and nephew Christopher and wife Bailey Milewski of Morristown, NJ and sister Amy Walter of Pawcatuck, CT.
Visitation is on Wednesday, September 6 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville NJ and a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on September 7 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, NJ.
