Kathleen Cecelia Brucker, nee Moll, 78, of Somerville, died peacefully on October 24, 2025.
Born in Atlantic City and raised in Margate to the late Henry and Jane Moll, (nee Rothkugel), Kathy was a graduate of Atlantic City High School. Growing up, Kathleen and her family spent time on the beaches of Margate and she carried a deep affection for the tranquility and beauty of the shore – particularly her favorite spot, Huntington Beach – for the rest of her life. Always one for new experiences and adventure, Kathy traded her flip flops for hiking boots and attended Salem College in the mountains of West Virginia. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education and met the love of her life, William “Bill” Brucker when she was a student teacher. The two were married in 1970 and lived in White Plains, NY and Parsippany, NJ before settling in Somerville in 1976 to raise their family. Kathy was an elementary school teacher at Immaculate Conception School for 31 years, where she taught generations of students and was beloved by all she encountered. Kathy especially enjoyed running into former students along her walks around town or while shopping, and took great pride in hearing about their life’s accomplishments. She was a devout parishioner of The Church of The Immaculate Conception and found joy and comfort in her parish community.
In her retirement, Kathy worked at The Christmas Tree Shop and took full advantage of their employee discount and greatly valued the new friends she made there. Family always came first for Kathy, and she cherished every moment she spent with her grand kids, grand dogs and grown children and their families. Whether taking in a show with her daughter, visiting her son and watching her grandsons’ many sporting events, grabbing a bite with her school and neighborhood friends or spending a day at the beach with her Margate crew, Kathy was happiest surrounded by her favorite people.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, William “Bill” Brucker.
Surviving are her loving children, William “Bill” Brucker and wife Beth and Kristin Brucker and partner Salvator Pertaccaro, her cherished grandchildren William and Matthew, her dear sister Mary Ann Slabek, her nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
