Karen Magliaro

Karen Magliaro, 74, died peacefully on June 27, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with heart complications.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Joseph Chubb and Lucille Chubb Vecci, Karen was raised in Raritan, NJ, where she graduated from high school in 1968.

She built a successful career in finance, working for many years at Somerset Trust. It was during this time she met the love of her life, Alan Magliaro. They married in 1979 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Somerville, NJ, beginning a beautiful journey of 45 years filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion.

Karen and Alan made their home in Somerville, where they raised their two sons before spending 15 wonderful years in the Poconos and eventually retiring in Freeport, Florida. A devout Catholic, Karen was a lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

She loved the beach, especially Wildwood, where she and Alan honeymooned, shopping with a stylish flair, and listening to Elvis Presley, with Can’t Help Falling in Love being her favorite.

Karen had a gift for making others feel at home. Her legendary barbecues and gatherings were filled with warmth, laughter, and delicious food. She brought people together with love and grace. Her greatest joy was her family, being a wife, mother, and grandmother was her proudest role, and she lived it with quiet strength and unwavering joy.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Alan; her sons, David Magliaro and his wife Cassandra, and Joseph Burns and his wife Brooke; her cherished grandson, David; and her siblings Chrissy, Lynn, and Rusty. She was predeceased by her dad Joseph Comito, mom Lucille Vecci, and stepdad Alfonso Vecci.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876.

A prayer service will commence at 3:15 PM at the funeral home.

Karen’s legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
