Julia M. Scanzo, wife and mother of the late James Scanzo Sr. and Joanne Wright, died August 29. Mrs. Scanzo was born in Philadelphia and resided in Somerville since 1945. She was an office employee at Somerville Lumber, Bridgewater, for over 30 years and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville.


Surviving are her children Carol Piltz, James Scanzo Jr., Christine Henry and Frances Gieda and 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a brother Robert Mawhinney.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Saturday, September 6, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visiting hours from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Friday, September 5, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville
