Josephine "Josie" Callaway

Josephine Callaway (Castellano), "Josie", 96, died peacefully on April 8, 2024.

Born in West New York to the late Emma and Paul Castellano, she went on to settle to Bridgewater, New Jersey, where she worked for Ethicon for over 35 years. She enjoyed puzzles and socializing with her friends and family. Josie was known for her great sense of humor and was loved and admired by her many nieces, nephews, and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, William Callaway, as well as her dear siblings, Theresa, Anne, Pauline and  Martin.

Surviving are her loving siblings, Rose Zdunek, Michael Castellano and wife Joan, her cherished nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, her longtime caring neighbors, her extended family, and dear friends at Chelsea at Bridgewater (Mira Vie).

In lieu of flowers, she has requested you honor her memory, as stated in her own words "Have a drink for the living, and a toast for the dead, thank you.".

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30AM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Somerset Street, New Brunswick.
