Joseph H. Prejean died February 3 at Somerset Medical Center. He was born in Iota, LA and resided in Manville for 40 years before retiring to LaBelle and Brooksville, Florida. Mr. Prejean moved back to New Jersey to be closer to his daughter Michele in Somerville last year. He retired in 1985 after 38 years with Union Carbide in Bound Brook. An Army Veteran of WWII, Mr. Prejean was a member of the VFW Post 2290 of Manville and an active member of the Church of Christ in Bridgewater. Survivng are his wife of 50 years, Lena, his children Michele Ogletree, Florence Sheppard, Marie Sadowski and Anthony Longo. His son John Prejean predeceased him. Also surviving are his siblings Bernadine Savoy, Loula May Doolittle, Jules and Gabriel Prejean, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 11am on Tuesday, February 8 at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville preceded by visiting at 10am. Interment to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ
