Joseph S. Hatos III
October 3, 1960 – July 14, 2026
Joseph S. Hatos III, 65, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026.
Known to family and friends as Joey, he was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School and received his Bachelors degree in Special Education from Gwynedd Mercy College.
A lifelong learner, Joey had a passion for reading and enjoyed writing letters and cards to family and friends. He was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan who faithfully cheered for the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers.
Later in life, Joey discovered a meaningful calling as a Peer Specialist. Drawing on his own lived experiences, he offered compassion, understanding, and hope to others.
Joey is survived by his daughters, Anne Hatos and Elizabeth Kaus and her husband Kenneth; his cherished grandchildren, Blaise, Daisy, and Estella Kaus; his sister, Maureen Jacobson and her husband, Bob; his nieces, great-niece, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph S. Hatos Jr, and his sister, Kathleen Hatos.
Joey was deeply loved by his mother, Dorothy Hatos, who passed away just one day after him.
Family meant everything to Joey. He was a proud father, and loving father-in-law. His greatest joy came from being “Grandpop” to his three cherished grandchildren.
