Joseph A. Cucchiaro, husband of the late Wilma Cucchiaro, died October 26 at home with his sons and daughter at his side. Mr. Cucchiaro was born in New York City and has been a resident of Flemington since 1996. He retired as the manager of the General Services Administration Depot (GSA), South Somerville, now Hillsborough. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force, stationed in Japan, during the Korean War, a member of the Somerset County 200 Club and a former Volunteer Fireman for Engine Co. #1 in Somerville.
"Joe Cucch" as he was known at the Somerville Elks was a Life Member having served as a Trustee and a much deserving Elk of the Year for his tireless work and dedication to the Lodge and especially the Somerset Handicapped Children's Treatment Center.
Surviving are his sons Joseph P. and wife Barbara of Flemington, Douglas P. of Flemington and his daughter Cynthia L. Manoni and her husband Thomas of Springboro,OH., his grandchildren Robert, Joey, Lisa, Megan (husband Matt), Morgan and Mallory and great-grandson Parker and his siblings Jean Pieros, Lorraine Brown and Philip Cuchiaro.
After a Family Service on Thursday, October 30, at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, an invitation is extended by his family to all of his friends, colleagues and brother Elks to a Celebration of His Life and Shared Memories at Noon, on Thursday, October 30, at the Somerville Elks Lodge #1068, 375 Union Ave., Bridgewater.
Memorial donations may be made in Joe's memory to the Somerset Handicapped Children's Treatment Center, 377 Union Ave., PO Box 6824, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
