He was born in Bridgeport, CT and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army from 1969 until Honorable Discharged in 1971. He was the son of the late John and Larene Lawton.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Lawton, a daughter Koring Lawton and a brother Joseph Lawton and 2 grandchildren.
