John Gaston DuMont, “Jack” to his friends and family, passed away on June 1, 2021. A lifelong resident of Somerville, NJ, Jack is survived by is wife of 55 years, Mary Frances DuMont and his two sons, Christopher, his wife Robin and Gregory, his wife Kelly. Born to Arthur and Elizabeth DuMont on November 16, 1934, Jack joined his surviving sibling, Robert DuMont and Marilyn Garbolino, who predeceased him.

Jack graduated from Somerville High School in 1952 and served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. After leaving the Army, Jack worked for Public Service Electric & Gas for 39 years, retiring as a Chief Linemen in their Overhead Division in 1996. A resident of Grove Street in Somerville for 52 years, he raised his two sons with is wife Mary and was an active member in the Somerville community. Jack enjoyed his 2 granddaughters, Katie, Kylie and grandson Austin.

​A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, NJ at 9:30am and immediately following the Mass, he will be buried at North Branch Reformed Cemetery, VanderVeer Road, North Branch.
