Joey Armenio

November 17, 1974 — July 18, 2022

Joey Armenio, 47, died on July 18, 2022. Born in Somerville, he grew up in Piscataway, and Bridgewater, before moving to Raritan. Joey was a graduate of Bridgewater Raritan High School, class of 1993. He went on to graduate from Raritan Valley Community College and has been a long time resident of Raritan. Joey was a devoted sports fan. He was a die-hard New York Rangers, New York Mets, and a San Francisco 49ers fan. He made sure to watch every game, and enjoyed the company around him, even if they weren’t rooting for the same team. Joey brought a laughter and light to any room. He was good at telling jokes and liked to dance. He was well known in night life and brought the fun with him wherever he went. Joey was proud of his Italian heritage and especially enjoyed Italian food. His network of friends spread far and wide and he will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Giovanna and Sergio DeGioia. Surviving are his parents, his loving father Felice Armenio and step-mother Mary Lou, and his beloved mother, Luigia (Gina) Diana and step-father Peter, his siblings, Angelina Rose and her husband Tony, Peter Diana and fiancé Janel Welichko, Daniel Diana, Megan Burrell and her husband Mark, Maribeth Gravunder and her husband Andy, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 1:00 to 5:00PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
