JoAnn D’Alessio, 64, passed away peacefully at home February 17th, 2015. Born and raised in Manhattan (Hell’s Kitchen), NY, she moved with her family to Jackson, NJ in 1964. She is a Class of ’68 graduate of Jackson Memorial High School. She and Claude joined hands in marriage in September, 1976. They settled in Bradenton, FL, the following year where they started a family, relocating to NJ in 1981.

Most recently employed by Gillen & Johnson, CPA’s for the past 17 years, she previously worked for the Counties of Ocean, Manatee (FL), and Somerset. She was on the original staff at Hillsborough K-Mart and had worked part-time at the Wal-Mart in Manville.

JoAnn was a devout Roman Catholic and prayed regularly to St. Anthony and to the Blessed Mother. She was a member of Altar Rosary at Christ the King in Manville and graced the choir with her singing talent. She enjoyed brisk walks, bowling, baking, reading, playing games, word puzzles, oldies music, movies, and Broadway shows. She liked traveling and taking trips to AC and to her Florida condo. But the best of times was that spent with family and in the company of friends. She had a kind, compassionate, and generous way about her and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

JoAnn was predeceased by her father, Hugh J. Brickley in 1965 and by brothers James in 2013 and Joseph in 2014. Her step father, Matthew Blair, died in 2000. She is survived by her beloved husband Claude and their loving sons Philip (Kristina) and Stephen. Also surviving are her mother Helen Blair, brothers Hugh (Kathleen) and Peter Brickley, a sister Helen Erickson and sister-in-law Linda; step siblings Michael, Edward, and Eileen Blair, and Patricia Mathos. She also had several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave, Somerville on Friday Feb. 20th from 2pm–4pm and 7pm-9pm. The funeral parlor will be open only to family members the morning of the funeral Feb. 21st. All are welcome at a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Christ the King in Manville beginning at 9am on Saturday Feb. 21st. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing. REST IN PEACE.
