Jennifer Irene Hess of Somerville, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, died at Somerset Medical Center on March 19th. She was 44 years old. Born in Orange , NJ , Jennifer moved with her family to Whitehouse in 1975 and then on to Somerville in 1997. An accomplished pianist, she performed recitals at an early age and enjoyed accompanying the chorus in school. Her teen years were spent with her best friend "Red", her big chestnut horse, riding cross country, competing in rallies and foxhunting as a member of the Somerset Hills Pony Club. Jennifer received a BA degree in Drama from Kenyon College in 1987. In June 1990, Jennifer married Ronald M. Hess. While raising their three children, she worked for the Open Your Heart Animal Shelter and taught Sunday School at Good Shepherd Church in Somerville . Jennifer is survived by her husband, her children Alexander, Gillian, and Benjamin Hess; her parents, Alfred and Heather Walker; two brothers, Matthew and Samuel Walker, and a sister-in-law, Jennifer Walker.

Jennifer's family will receive friends on Tuesday (Today) March 22 from 4pm concluding with a Memorial Service at 6pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue , Somerville .
