Jean Ann Parascandola, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, August 30th, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late George and Mildred Brown (nee Clark), she attended Junior High School at PS 78 before going to Our Lady of Lourdes High School.
She met the love of her life Donald Blaise Parascandola in their Brooklyn neighborhood at sixteen, and the two were married in 1959 at Lady of Loreto Church in Brooklyn.
Jean’s first job was with the New York Telephone Company where she spent four years before the Parascandola’s moved to Bridgewater in 1960. She raised her family and was a devoted wife and mother at their homestead. Mrs. Parascandola enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, making homemade wine, jarring sauce, and raising chickens. In 1985, she went back to work at Acme Supermarkets where she stayed until 1999. Jean retired into her role as Grandma and enjoyed the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very active in her bowling league at Bowlerama and played for over twenty years where she made memories with friends. She especially enjoyed her trips to the casinos! Later in life, she enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends on Facebook and watching her shows on TV. Jean was promoted to Great Grandma when her great-granddaughter Maddie was born and she enjoyed every minute they spent together.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Donald Blaise Parascandola, and her dear siblings George Brown and Patricia Lafaso.
Surviving are her loving children, James Parascandola, Donna Riedinger and husband Jim, Diane Cooper and husband Tom, and Joseph Parascandola and wife Stephanie, her cherished grandchildren, Brian and wife Brittney, Brittney and husband Anthony, Anthony, William, Allison, and Danny, her adored great-granddaughter Maddie, and her dear brother Robert Brown, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
