Jay Gold, 62, departed this life on May 21,2024
Born in Somerville, New Jersey to the late Robert and Geraldine Gold, he grew up in the glory days of Ozzy Osbourne and Pink Floyd, a love of music he carried with him throughout his life. Jay taught himself how to play guitar and jam out with friends. Jay had an inherent ability to learn anything he put his mind to, and computer systems engineering was no different. Over the years he took classes and evolved with ever-changing technology to become a Unix Systems Administrator.
He met the love of his life, Rose in 1980, and the two were married in 1985 and settled in Raritan where they raised their family. Rose was his best friend. He was a kid at heart who enjoyed toys and games, especially Zelda and Mario, which he shared with his kids and grandchildren. Jay enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, and especially the quality time spent with his family. His long battle with cancer may have taken time away from him and his family, but he made up for it with the quality of every minute spent together.
Jay was preceded in death by his two brothers Richard and William Gold.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Rose (Leonard) Gold, his loving son Justin Gold and wife Amy, his step children, Alan Seymour and Brian Seymour and wife Amy, his cherished grandchildren Brian, Oscar, Alan, Sofia, Rylan, Vivian, Van, and Gus, his dear siblings, Wendy Brown, and husband Dylan Sheridan, Catherine Brown, Stormie (Gold) Fenner and husband Frank Fenner, Robin Daniels and husband Clark Daniels, and Dean Gold, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Cremation Services will be private.
