Janet A. Tehan of Bethlehem, PA passed away Friday after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was 90.

Janet was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and attended the University of Washington. She enjoyed an exciting career as a flight attendant for American Airlines. On a flight to Dallas, she met the love of her life, Thomas Tehan with whom she had five children. After moving to Branchburg, NJ she enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent and paralegal while raising her family. She was also a passionate traveler.

She was an avid bridge player and took on all challengers at Scrabble. Jan moved to Bethlehem, PA in the late 1980’s to be closer to her grandchildren. Janet took much pride from her children and grandchildren. A lifelong Democrat, she always volunteered at the polls on Election Day. She spent much of her latter years devouring a wide variety of books and loved reading the newspaper each day.

Janet is pre-deceased by her husband Thomas, son Michael and daughter Mary Zechman. She is survived by her daughters Linda Mitch, Susan Hart, and Anne Ammend, daughter in-law Diane Tehan; grandchildren Jessica and Courtney Lowe, Ryan and Sean Hart and wife Isabel, Caitlin and Thomas Tehan and Skyler and Cecelia Ammend; and sons-in-law Robert Mitch, Robert Hart, and James Ammend and siblings Richard and Sylvia.

Janet will always be remembered as an independent lady with a passion for life and her family.
Visiting hours on Wednesday, July 21, from 5pm-8pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville, NJ. Funeral Service 10am on Thursday, July 22, at the Funeral Home.
