Janet (Heinzer) Contursi, age 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 26, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center.

Born and raised in Plainfield, N.J., she resided in Bridgewater for 39 years.

The 'rock" of her family, she attended Middlesex County Votech while working full time and raising her 5 children.

She received the cap of a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1968. She was employed by John E. Runnells Specialized Hospital for most of her nursing career.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Patrick in 1981.

She is survived by her children, Linda Carr of Brookfield, CT, John Contursi of Flemington, Patricia Santillo, Gary Contursi, and Scott Contursi, all of Bridgewater; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 29 from 6:00-9:00 PM with a period of remembrance starting at 8:30pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. A prayer service will also be held at Cusick Funeral Home at 9:00 am Thursday, June 30. Burial immediately follows at Neshanic Cemetery.
