James Donald "Don" Gibbons passed away on June13th in Marlboro, NJ from complications of Parkinson's.
Born in Orange, NJ, lived most of his life in NJ.
Don served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 through 1966 aboard The USS Turner. A graduate of the Newark College of Engineering, as an electrical engineer. He founded Gibbons Electric in Belle Mead, NJ and served on the Hillsborough Rotary Club or many years. He was a Co-Founder of the Hillsborough Soccer Club and a tireless member of the Hillsborough Planning Board. Don was an active and caring member of the Hillsborough Township community for many years.
He is predeceased by his sister Carol Gibbons. He is survived by his wife of 21 year Donna (Thibault); his children and their spouses Sean and Johanna Gibbons of Argyle, TX, William and Amy Hommen of Chandler, AZ and 3 grandchildren Julia, Zachary and Alexander; his brother and sister in-law Mary and Paul Gibbons of New Providence, Brother Richard Gibbons of Spotswood, NJ and Sister and brother in-law Barbra and Phillip Ruziska of Somerset, NJ. Visitation will begin at 10am on Tuesday, June 20, and conclude with a Funeral Service at Noon at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. Interment to follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's.
