James Gerard Fennessy

James Gerard Fennessy, 64, died peacefully on August 16, 2025.

James and his partner of seventeen years, Brenda Lafferre, and her daughter and son, Maya Pathak and Neil Pathak, resided in Bridgewater, New Jersey for many years. James came to reside in the United States from Ireland in the early 1980s. James worked in IT for many years. He had a large family, mostly in Ireland, and some also in New Jersey.

James was predeceased by his parents John J. and Ellen Fennessy, his uncles James G Fennessy , Patrick Butler, Jim Butler and Paddy Gleeson, his aunts Molly Brinn, Philomena Cronin, and Josephine Gleason.

James is survived by his loving partner Brenda Lafferre, his siblings John Fennessy, Tony Fennessy, and Helen Brown, sister in law Liz Fennessy, brother in law Liam Brown, Aunts Jean Fennessy and Ann Butler, nephews John Fennessy, Adam Fennessy, Daniel Fennessy, nieces Lisa Clancy, Karen Fennessy, Maebh Brown, and Aoife Brown, grandnephews Cillian Fennessy and Leighton Fennessy, grandnieces Hazel, Hayley, and Tara Clancy, and Lacey Fennessy, and many cousins in Ireland, the United States and Scotland.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00PM on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. Prayer services will be held at 6:30PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan.
