Herbert J Buhl

Herbert J. Buhl, 92, died peacefully on June 16, 2023.

Born in Newark, he was raised in Irvington and attended Irvington Public Schools. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army for four years, during the Korean War. He worked for Mennen Corporation in Morris Plains where he met the love of his life, Martha DiSarno. The two were married and settled in Raritan where they raised their family. After spending 42 years with Mennen Corp as a Warehouse Supervisor, he retired in 1989. Mr. Buhl was an avid NY Mets, NY Yankees, and NY Giants fan. He loved country music, especially Hank Williams. He was a proud American Veteran who loved his country and his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Martha Buhl; his two brothers, Wally and Donald; and his granddog Comet.

Surviving are his loving daughters, Kathleen Carbone and husband Daniel, and Barbara DeStefano, his cherished grandchildren Andrew and Michael, and granddogs Chevy, Miley, and Skiba.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge.
