Henry died peacefully in his sleep early in the morning on November 20th2018 at the ripe old age of 92! He was under hospice at Sunnyside Manor in Wall, NJ.
Son of late Stanislaus and Sophia Kowalczyk, brother of Lottie Waslin and Al Kowalczyk (both deceased). Husband to late Josephine (Bisaha) Kowalczyk who celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Henry was a Navy veteran of WWII who was stationed in the Philippines. Henry was the owner of Atlas Drywall for approximately 20 years.
Henry is survived by his two daughters – Karen Kolvites (Ray) and Lori Talmage (Cal). Grandfather to Bonnie Janos (Andrew), Christina Kolvites, and Tim Kolvites. Great grandfather to Madelynn and Jocelyn Janos.
Henry was an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. He loved the outdoors and the fresh water streams in North Jersey. He fished Lake Hopatcong this last spring with his best friend Babe and son-in-law Cal and loved going on each outing!
Henry was loved and visited by his 25+ nieces and nephews during a family reunion this summer and in his final days. Thank you to all who made him feel special!
Give Mom a big hug and kiss from all of us! Then get the fishing poles ready to catch “the big one”. Love you Daddy, rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hank’s memory to Avon-by-the-Sea First Aid Squad or Branchburg First Aid Squad.
Visitation is at the Cusick Funeral Home – 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville NJ on Friday November 23rd from 5-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church – 16 East Somerset St. Raritan, NJ on Saturday November 24th at 11am. Additional visitation will be available at the funeral home prior to the Mass at 9:45am on Saturday. Interment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater
