Helen Barbara (Kozikowski) Rand died August 12 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Mrs. Rand was born in Poland, grew up in Bayonne and resided in Somerville for over 40 years before moving to Readington. She attended schools in Bayonne, Bound Brook and the Drake Business College in New Brunswick. Mrs. Rand retired as the Bookkeeper for Econo Car and Ryder Trucks in Somerville, a business her late husband, Joseph, owned and operated along with the Exxon Station. "Joe" passed away in 1998 after 48 years of marriage to Helen.


Mrs. Rand was Past President of the Somerville Columbietts, a Den Mother of the Cub Scouts, the Deborah Heart & Lung Association, a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Church's Rosary Altar Society and their Senior Leisure Club. Surviving are her children, Wayne of Florida, Ronald and his wife, Judy of Hillsborough and Barbara Gomez and her husband, Gregorio of Readington, 6 grandchildren Zachary, Brielle, Alexa, Maxwell, Jill and Joseph and a great grandson, Jett. Her brother, John Kozikowski predeceased her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Friday, August 17, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at church cemetery. Visiting hours from 6pm-9pm on Thursday, August 16, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
