Gloria Jane Roth passed away peacefully at home on August 28 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sewaren, NJ to the late Willard and Daisy Parker, Gloria grew up in Middlesex. She later moved to Bridgewater where she has resided for the past 52 years.

Gloria graduated from Bound Brook High School. She pursued a career in Nursing at Orange Memorial Hospital where she graduated in 1951 as a Registered Nurse. She furthered her career by going back to school to obtain her BSN at Rutgers University. Mrs. Roth was employed at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville for 40 years as a Clinical Director of Orthopedics and Admission Nurse for pre-admission testing. She retired in 1996.

A communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville, Gloria enjoyed spending her leisure time with her family, time at their summer beach house, fishing on their boat named "Gloria J" and taking frequent trips to Atlantic City. Gloria was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law and will be greatly missed by all. She left a mark on this earth of pure kindness and is a true angel of the first degree. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George Roth, 6 children; Dianne Hartpence and husband Bob of Ellicott City, MD, Barbara Silver and husband Steve of Philadelphia, PA, Linda Javerbaum and husband Bob of Cockeysville, MD, Carol Allan of Toms River, George Roth and wife Lynn of Bridgewater, Sue Esposito and husband Rich of Lake Ariel, PA, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Wednesday, September 3, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visiting hours from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Tuesday, September 2, at the Cusick Funeral; Home, Somerville.
