Glenn F. Barry

Glenn Francis Barry, 66 passed away February 25, 2025.


Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on July 29, 1958 to the late Donald and Eleanor Barry. He was raised in Somerville, NJ and graduated Immaculata High School in 1976. He went on to attend Seton Hall University, South Orange NJ and received his Bachelor's Degree in accounting.


Glenn was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception church. Early in his career he worked for Lockheed in No. Plainfield NJ. He later worked as the Director of Transportation at Morris Township Schools in NJ and most recently as the Director of Transportation for Hunterdon Regional Central High School before retiring in December 2023. He served as past President of the School Bus Association.


Glenn was knowledgeable in his field and still maintained contact providing guidance to his colleagues on the transportation team. Like his father Glenn was dedicated to his community and was a life member of the Somerville Rescue Squad serving various leadership positions throughout his years of service. He was a member of the Somerville Elks Lodge 1068.


Glenn was a kind and generous man who had a wonderful sense of humor and was given the nickname "joker" in his childhood. As an adult Glenn never lost that sense of humor and quick wit. He loved his friends and family. Glenn enjoyed spending time with them at birthdays, holidays and picnics especially his nieces and nephew.

Surviving is his brother Don, sister Elaine, brother Jim and his wife Carol, nieces Kelly, Jaclyn, Caitlin Wheeler and her husband Jordan, and his nephew Jimmy.


Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.


Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover.
