Gertrude Josephine Tarnovetchi (nee Straub), 85, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Trudy, as she was fondly known to friends and family, was born in Gura Humora, Romania on October 29, 1932, grew up in Bad Ischl, Austria, and emigrated to the United States in 1952. She married her beloved husband, the late Titus Tarnovetchi Sr., in 1955. She was a longtime resident of Hillsborough, NJ but resided in Manville, NJ for the past 13 years. Trudy loved spending time with her grandchildren and visiting her daughter in California.

She is survived by her daughter Victoria Tarnovetchi, son Titus Tarnovetchi Jr., daughter-law Donna Tarnovetchi, and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, and Emily.

Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd from 7-9 pm at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ.On Thursday, January 4, visiting hours will begin at 10am, followed by a funeral service at 11am. Interment, Neshanic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
