George Irving Hall, a lifelong resident of Somerville, died January 28 at RWJUH at Somerset in Somerville. Mr. Hall was a 1960 graduate of Somerville High School and then went on to Rutgers University to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. He was a former lab technician for Johns-Manville for a total of 15 years. He later retired from Apache Corporation that manufactured corporation roofing insulation.
He had a love for music, photography and archery (especially the crossbow). His concern for wildlife was foremost. A clarinet player since junior high school, George was a member of the Raritan Valley Symphonic Band. He was a member of several camera clubs and was awarded a
Citation from the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs. George attended the First United Methodist Church in Somerville. George was a gentle and kind person who will be sorely missed.
Surviving are a cousin, William Van Nest (Marlene) of Somerville and a dear and longtime friend, Marjorie Forrest of Teaneck.
Visiting hours are from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday, February 2, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. A Funeral Service will follow the evening visiting beginning at 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in George's memory to the National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190-5362.
