George F. Frana Jr. ESQ., 62, of Hillsborough, NJ passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013. He died “his way”, peacefully, quietly, and with dignity. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 26 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. The Funeral Service will be 11am on Wednesday, February 27,at the funeral home.Burial to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery,Route 28,Bridgewater.

Born in Newark, George’s family moved to Hillsborough in 1963. A 1968 graduate of Somerville High School, Frana graduated with honors from Drew University in 1972. In between his junior and senior year at Drew he completed his infamous European Pub Crawl from London to Dublin, Germany, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich, Madrid, Venice and had his last beer in Rome, all the while as a member of the Royal Commonwealth Society in London,graduating from the London School of Economics in 1971. He received his Juris Doctor from Midwestern School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1975. He was sworn into the Minnesota State Bar in 1975 and the New Jersey State Bar in 1977. He began practicing Law in Manville, NJ in 1977 and was recently honored as Central Jersey’s Best Lawyer of 2012.

Since 1983, he was a season ticket holder of The New York Giants and could be found there with his best friends Ron Tobia, Danny O’Connor, Joe (Moe) Burns, Richie Walters, Bobby Gatto, Dr. Bob Washleski, Joey Catrone, David Daley, Rich Deluca, and Johnny Pankowski. Along with his die hard commitment to The New York Giants, him and his team of loyal friends could be seen every Wednesday at Gatto’s Sports Bar for his weekly “meeting of the minds”.

Aside from his NY Giants tailgating experience, George was a very skilled woodworker and fabricator. He enjoyed building his basement bar and lounge with his sons and designing new items for his football tailgating. As well as being avid movie watcher of mystery movies from Poirot to Midsomer Murders to Bogart Classics and James Bond.

He also loved animals, especially his beloved cats and tending to his backyard wildlife of birds, turkeys, deer and his favorite battling the squirrels.

He was predeceased by his parents, George (2001) and Peggy Frana (2012), his beloved infant son George III (1979) and his beloved son Todd (2001). He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Carole Frana (Pensak); his daughter Jennifer of Hillsborough; his son Brett and Mandy (Wolf) of Hillsborough; Laura and her husband Edward Pankowski of Manville; his daughter Jacquie and Rob (Schueller) of Howell Twp., NJ, his grandsons Edward Pankowski Jr. and Connor Joseph Frana; his sister Debra (Carman) and her husband Ronald Benitez of Ringoes; his sister Cynthia and Karl Palzer of Hillsborough; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His smile and unique personality will live on in our hearts forever.In
