George C. Conroy, husband of 36 years to the late Catherine "Kitty" Conroy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long illness.

Mr. Conroy retired from Ethicon in 1988 after more than 40 years. An Army veteran of WW II, he served as a Combat Engineer and was awarded 5 Bronze Stars in the European-African and Central Europe Campaigns.

Surviving are his daughters Ellen VanDerMeiren (husband Dexter) of Whitehouse Station, Cathy Magulak (husband John) of Hillsborough, Susan Mantz (husband Pete) of Somerville and Joyce Rose ( husband Larry) of Lewes, DE., his grandchildren Cody, Greg, Lisa, Sara, Meagan, Reed and Mandy and his faithful caretaker Donna.

Mr. Conroy was 1 of 9 children and his only surving sibling is Jim Conroy of Camp Hill, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, April 16, at the St. Bernard Church, Route 22, Bridgewater. Interment to follow at church cemetery. Visiting hours from 5pm-8pm on Monday, April 15, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
