Ella Rolef from Bridgewater passed away, at the age of 93, in her home on April 25,2018, with her daughters by her side. It was the home she and her husband Walter Rolef physically built themselves in 1952.

Ella was born in Newark, NJ. She has two daughters, Jane Rolef Parise, son-in-law Jerry Parise and daughter Dale Rolef. She also has has one granddaughter Elizabeth Parise Mikulik and two great-grand children Drew and Lauren. Husband Walter Rolef passed away in 2004.

Ella had a very active life. She worked for Prudential until her children were born. Later in life she was a dental assistant and attended Art School. She was an accomplished artist of oil paintings for 60 years and has won numerous awards. She taught oil painting and was a member of the American Art Association of Somerset County.

​In addition to her painting career, Ella was on the New Jersey State Women's Field Hockey Team, played basketball for Prudential and played competitive Women's Softball. Ella loved participating in competitive sports. Ella enjoyed the beach, swimming and the mountains. She has enjoyed going on vacations, cruises and playing bingo. Visiting hours from 3pm-7pm on Sunday, April 29, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. Funeral Service 11am on Monday, April 30, at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
