Francis Palazzi, 64, of Raritan, died peacefully on Sept. 19, 2013, at St. Peter’s Hospice in New Brunswick, surrounded by his loving family.

Francis was born in Bound Brook, the son of the late Antonio and Carmella Palazzi and has been a resident of Raritan for 36 years. He is survived by a loving family; his wife Maria of 36 years, his daughter, Diana Palazzi Mery, husband Raymond, his son, Mark Palazzi, fiancee Leah Nelson and his grandson Oliver Mery, his two sisters, Marie Rydzy, husband John and Kathleen Palazzi. Sister-in-law Diane Phelps, husband John and host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

After graduating college from Saint Francis University in Loretto, P.A., he joined Pharmacia and retired in 2009 from GE Healthcare as a Global Sourcing and Operation Manager.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul, a Lecturer, Eucharistic Minister and taught CCD at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Raritan.

Most of all Francis enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his one grandson, reading and gardening. Beyond his professional and personal accomplishments, Francis will be most fondly remembered for his remarkable generosity, kindness and selflessness.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, September 24, at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, 45 Anderson St., Raritan.
