Francine O'Connor

Francine O'Connor passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023, at the age of 80.

She was a doting mother & grandmother who loved her family. She was born and raised in Belleville, NJ, with her parents and 3 siblings. After a chance meeting on the back of his motorcycle, she married the love of her life Aloysius O'Connor in 1962, and the rest is history.

Together, they built a wonderful life in Piscataway with their daughters, Kelli and Jennifer. They made life-long friends from their neighborhood, who the family treasures to this day.

Fran loved celebrating and decorating for every holiday, was a great bowler, enjoyed ceramics, and had quite a sweet tooth. She worked for decades at Rutgers University as an Administrative Assistant in various departments, ultimately retiring from the Athletic Department in 2012. She enjoyed her work, and considered many of her co-workers dear friends. After retirement, she lived in a 55+ community in Somerset, where she met amazing new friends, with whom she

experienced fun trips, new activities, and plenty of social events. Sadly, due to dementia/Alzheimer's, she spent her last 2 years in an assisted living and nursing home in Bridgewater. Her daughters are so grateful for the gentle care she received there.

Fran was predeceased by her husband, Al, her sisters Lorraine and Dottie, and her parents Joe and Edna Pendlebury. She is survived by her adoring daughters, Kelli Castro and Jennifer O'Connor; her 'favorite' son-in-laws, Ron Castro and Tommy Havyar; her two cherished grandchildren, Connor and Alexa Castro; and her big brother, Ron Pendlebury.

She truly enjoyed her life, her family, and her friends. Take comfort that she is no longer suffering, and is reunited with her love, Al. May she Rest in Eternal Peace knowing how much she was deeply loved.

Graveside services will take place privately at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.

An open house celebration of life will be held on January 29, 2023 from 1:00-5:00PM at 155 Greenbrook Road, Green Brook, NJ.
