Florence Vreeland, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 7 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.

Born in Bayonne, she resided in Bridgewater for almost 70 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William Vreeland, in 2007.

She is the last of nine siblings. She lived most of her years in Bridgewater happily married in the home her husband built. Her family enjoyed home cooked meals with fresh vegetables from their garden. She loved her grandchildren and her pets. She moved to Bridgeway Care Center in her late 80’s where every aide, activity member, housekeeper and nurse knew her by name and treated her with great care and dignity.

Surviving are four children, William Vreeland Jr. of Bridgewater; James Vreeland and wife, Karen, of Branchburg; Patricia Revalski of Glen Gardner; and Betty Vreeland and husband, Christopher Kosseff of Monroe and seven grandchildren, Timothy, David, Benjamin, Jacob, Kendra, Diane and Mitchell.

Visiting hours 6pm-9pm on Wednesday, March 9, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, March 10, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Final prayers will follow after Mass at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Chapel, Basking Ridge.
