Florence A. Longo died July 24 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Mrs. Longo was born in Yonkers, NY and lived there for 33 years before moving to Newark, NJ in 1957. From 1969, she resided in Union, NJ before moving recently to Bridgewater in 2005. As a former member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. Joseph's Church in Maplewood and presently a member of the Rosary Altar Society at the Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, this lovely woman of strong faith was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Philomena (Sorge) Carozza and her siblings Richard, Frank, John, Albert, Mary and Anna. She is survived by her devoted husband James S. Longo and her loving sons and daughter, James V., David (wife Chris) and Jeanine Cavanagh (husband Jim); her special grandchildren Michael, Beth, Colleen, Tommy, Amanda, Laura, James and John. Also surviving are her brothers and sister; Armando, Lou, Ed and Caroline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am on Friday, July 27, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visiting hours from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Thursday (Today) July 26 at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Social Ministry, C/O Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876 in Florence's memory.
