Flor de Maria Esperanza Huamani Sanchez, 72, passed into the afterlife on April 26, 2024. Pray for
her family to find peace.
Her beautiful life began in the district of Lima Callao, Peru in 1952. She was the first of Seven children to the late Javier Huamani Otazo and Otilia Sanchez Bobadilla de Huamani. In 1969, she was married in Bellavista, Callao, to her former husband, Roberto Laguna. In 1974, Flor de Maria moved to the United States with Roberto and settled in New Jersey, where she raised her family. Flor de Maria was a very caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She has always enjoyed traveling to Peru, where she spent quality time with her siblings and parents. In 2022, Flor de Maria moved to Somerville, where she enjoyed a variety of senior citizen events and attended The Church of The Immaculate Conception.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Veronica Carlisle, Aurora Huryk, and Sunshine Laguna. She cherished spending quality time with her grandchildren, Justyn, Alexia, Carinna, Anthony, Jacob, and Sophia, and son-in-law, Paul. She also adored great-grandchildren Noah, Eziekiel, and Avalyn. She is also survived by siblings Virginia, Angel, Carola, Ricardo, Diana, and Fidel and niece-in-law Destiny. She cherished the love of all her family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her extended family, friends, and friends of the family. Gracefully, Flor de Maria lived a very loving, caring, and memorable life while on Earth.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00PM on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, May 6, 2024, at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
