Eric John Geitner departed into eternal life Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013 at his home in Somerville. Eric was born August 15, 1983 to Katherine and the late Rudolph Geitner in Wayne, New Jersey.

Eric was disabled, both mentally and physically, as an infant and denied the chance at a normal life. However, he proved to be far stronger than anyone could ever imagine and persevered against constant and ultimate adversity for his entire life. Eric has profoundly changed the lives of all who met him, through his innocence, strength, purity and love. Now he will finally find rest in the arms of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Eric is survived by his devoted and loving mother, Katherine and his faithful brother, Joseph; his aunts Mary Lipscomb and Eleanor Zito; his uncles Reverend Father John Geitner M.M. and Albert Geitner as well as numerous cousins in the tri-state area.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30pm on Saturday, April 13, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Visiting hours from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Friday, April 12, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
