Elizabeth Monahan died August 31, 2011. Miss Monahan was born in Enumclaw, Washington and resided in East Orange from 1950 until moving to Somerville in 1989. A graduate of the University of Toledo (Ohio) and Seton Hall University with a Masters Degree in Education, she retired after 45 years as a teacher and guidance counselor at Summit Junior High School. Miss Monahan was the daughter and sister of the late Raymond and Amelia Monahan and Rose Monahan. Surviving are her brother Robert Monahan (wife, Mary), nephews Jim and Andrew (wife,Juliet) Monahan and Christopher and Michael Cyberey and a grand nephew and niece Gavin and Sophia Monahan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, East Orange.
