Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Slotter, 76, died peacefully on August 4, 2026.

Born and raised in Cork, Ireland, to the late Thomas and Jane Kiely, (nee Brown), she went on to attend nursing school. During her nursing residency she moved to England where she worked in the maternity ward.

In the early 1970’s, Betty moved to the United States and began working at Rahway Hospital in the Emergency Room. It was there she met her future husband, Mr. Michael Dennis Slotter, and the two were married in 1977. The Slotters lived in Linden before settling to Whitehouse Station where they raised their family. Mrs. Slotter worked for Hunterdon Medical Center before devoting herself to raising her two daughters.

She enjoyed sharing her Irish heritage with her daughters, devoting time to her family, enjoyed embroidering, and spending time in the garden.

Surviving are her beloved husband, Michael Dennis Slotter, her loving daughters, Katie Slotter and husband Wade Killman, and Doireann Slotter, her siblings, Eileen, Kathleen, and Denis, her cherished dog, Oscar, as well as her two granddogs, Lucas and Maddie.
