Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Herrmann

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Herrmann (nee O’Brien), 87, of Bridgewater, died peacefully on June 29, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late John P. and Catherine O’Brien (nee Malone), she graduated from Catherine McAuley High School. She went on to work for Bell Laboratories where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Herrmann. They married in Brooklyn and soon started their family there. Eventually, they settled in Bridgewater, where they raised three children. Betty and Bob recently celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary. Betty was a parishioner of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church in Bridgewater. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She cherished quality time with family, especially her grandchildren, who knew her best as “Nana.” She loved spending time with people, from long-time friends to those she just met. Betty lit up any room with her smile and positivity. She also enjoyed knitting and traveling, especially to Disney with her grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her dear son, Kenneth G. Herrmann, and her brother J. Kenneth O’Brien. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Janet Herrmann and daughter and husband Colette and Kevin Durkin; daughter-in-law Jennifer Herrmann; her adored grandchildren, Patricia, John, Brian, Owen, Abby, and Meghan, as well as many extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Rt 22, Bridgewater. Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 9:00AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Kenneth G.
