Eileen T. Mayer

Hillsborough

Eileen Mayer (nee` Herbert) died at home on February 15 surrounded by her loving family. She was 86.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she resided in East Brunswick for many years before moving to Hillsborough. Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Mayer was an administrator at the Brooklyn Army Base during WWII. One of her duties was to process top secret troop deployment for the European theater. It was there that she had the privilege of meeting President Roosevelt who often visited with his dog, Fala.

Upon her marriage, she embraced her life long role of home maker.

Mrs. Mayer is predeceased by her beloved husband, William, and her sister, Margaret Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter Eileen Valor and husband Michael, her sons William and Daniel Mayer. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Laura, Allison, Kristin, Ruth, Bill, Christopher, and Samantha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of God Church,South Triangle Rd. in Hillsborough on Saturday, February 19 at 10am.
