Age 50
Branchburg
Edward J. Tammaro passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 20 at his residence in Branchburg. Ed was employed by a number of local companies in Somerset County where his work ethic was soundly appreciated by all of his fellow workers and employers. Most of his family lived out of New Jersey but his adopted family, his friends, at the Somerville Elks, Thirsty's and the Royal will surely miss a guy who never complained, had a kind word to all and would literally give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. He was involved in many softball leagues during the summer and personally promoted the annual Tournament for Jack's Kids at the Somerville Elks among his many friends and ballplayers. Surviving are his siblings Larry, Michael, John, Bobby and Sheila Tommaro and Brenda Johnson and Duke Hendershot and dear friends David, Leo, Shorty, Steve, Gary, Wink and so many others who will always remember the "good guy" they lost. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Saturday, October 29 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Visiting hours will begin at 5pm on Friday, October 28 concluding with an Elks Wake Service at 7:30pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ed's memory to Jack's Kids, c/o the Somerville Elks, 375 Union Ave., Bridgewater, NJ 08807 as Ed said many times, "remember its all about the Kids".
