Eleanor E. Craig, a Doctor of Music, passed away Saturday April 16. Dr. Craig was born in Tompkinville, NY and resided in Somerville for 30 years before moving to Bridgewater in 1962. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Henry (MD) and Dora Craig and sister of the late Warren Craig. Dr. Craig was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and went on to earn her PH.D. in music at Boston University. She was a well known teacher of piano and organ and performed recitals with her twin sister, Frances throughout this area and the East coast. Her noted teachers included Dr. Virgil Fox and Dr. Charlotte Garden. Surviving are her twin sister Dr. Francis Craig, cousins Dorothy Everett, Judy Coates, Loretta Crate,Letitia Muller, Charles and Miller Craig and a dear friend Dorothy (Devlin) Kotalic. A Funeral Service, conducted by Reverend Matthew Smith, will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, April 19 at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville. Interment to follow at Pluckemin Cemetery. Visiting will precede Service on Tuesday beginning at Noon at the funeral home.
