Age 85

Dorothy Fox Donovan, 85, passed onto her eternal rest on October 2, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Friends and relatives are invited to the visitation on Sunday, October 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue; Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday, October 6 at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Avenue; Somerville. Entombment will follow at the St Teresa of Avila Mausoleum, Summit. Please come to help us celebrate her wonderful life.

Born to Paul E and Dora (Pauls) Fox, Dorothy was raised in Roselle Park and graduated from RPHS in 1946. She moved to Summit in 1956 and shortly thereafter started working at Ciba Pharmaceuticals, where she met the love of her life, Dennis. They married in 1959 and built a life together that set an example for all who knew them. They settled in Somerville in 1965 and raised their three children there. Nothing pleased them more than watching their children grow up and move out and still find their way back to the “homestead” for impromptu dinners or a NY Mets game.
Dorothy worked at Immaculate Conception School and then became the bookkeeper at Immaculata High School, where many students learned to knock on her window to wave to Mrs D. Her infectious smile and big heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Dennis (1993) and her sister Ruth Pedneault (2004).
Dorothy leaves behind her three loving children, daughter Kathy Giegrich and husband Robert , and sons Kevin and wife Maggie, and Kenneth and his wife Chris , along with her adored grandsons Ian, Kyle, Tyler and Shawn. She is also survived by her brother Paul; cousins Bill Miller and Carol Hendershot-Roll and a host of nieces and nephews as well as good friends who have been so supportive during this difficult time

The family would also like to thank the supportive teams at the Chelsea in Bridgewater and Compassionate Care Hospice for the love shown to Dorothy over the last 3 years.
