Donald Blaise Parascandola died December 23 at home. Donald was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived there for 22 years before moving to Bridgewater in 1960. Mr. Parascandola retired afer 38 years with NJ Bell in North Branch. He was a former Little League coach from 1980 through 1992 and a life long Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers baseball and Dallas Cowboys football fan. Mr. Parascandola other interests and pastimes included being an active memeber of the Antique Truck Club of America, participating in local car and truck antique shows, apperaring regularly at Somerville Cruise Night for the past 15 years, a life long gardener and hobby farmer of vegetables and fruit trees and adding to the list his joy of hunting where he won several "big deer" contests at local sport shops. He was predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Marie Parascandola Arbucci, his step father Irvino Arbucci and sister Rose Marie Wurzbach. Surviving are his wife of 53 years Jean (Brown) Parascandola, his children James and Joseph (wife Stephanie) Parascandola of Bridgewater, Donna Riedinger (husband James) of Califon and Diane Cooper of Succasunna, and grandchildren William, Anthony, Allison and Daniel Parascandola and Brian and Brittney Cooper. Funeral Service 10:30am on Friday, December 28, at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Somerville. Visiting hours are from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, Dcember 27, at the funeral home.
