Dolores B. Sartin, née Atkinson, died peacefully on May 10, 2025.
Born in Plains, PA to the late Joseph and Mary Atkinson, née Romanchick, she was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains PA, class of 1946. Dolores (Dorie) grew up working at her uncle’s pharmacy in town where she met a local boy, Joseph Sartin, who she grew up to marry in August of 1950. The Sartin’s settled in Bridgewater and Dorie went on to work for Pearls Pharmacy in Somerville before becoming a devoted stay at home wife and mom.
Once her kids were in school, she went back to work as an aide at Van Holten School. Her kind heart and joyous spirit was felt by all the kids who had the privilege of having time in her care. Dorie enjoyed her role as a grandmother and spending quality time creating memories with her grandchildren, watching the Yankees on television and going to their sporting events. She traveled with her husband to Hawaii, Europe and enjoyed visiting her one daughter and family in Georgia. Her down time was spent reading, doing crossword puzzles, and being with family. Dorie was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph E. Sartin, Sr., her sisters Mary Alvator, Magdalen Craig and her dear son, Joseph E. Sartin, Jr.
Surviving are her loving daughters Karen Devine and husband Charley and Patty Teeling and husband Tim, her cherished grandchildren, Jamie (Jack), Bob (Meghan), Brian (Beth), Tim (Tricia), Chris, Tim (Sarah), Liz (Joe), and Katie (Evan), her adored great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ben, Camila, Jack, Andrew, Austin, Colin, Gwenny, Kevin, Wrenna, Lowan, Teelyn, and Joey, as well as nieces and extended family.
Visitation will be held from 9:30AM to 10:30AM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum, Bridgewater.
