Dolores “ Bunny” Jubak, died peacefully November 3, surrounded by her family just days after her 90th birthday.
Born and raised in Manville to the late Frank and Mollie Dudash (nee Ceiswick), she was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, Class of 1950 and was a member of the reunion committee for years to come. Bunny went to work for Johns-Manville where she met the love of her life, the late Thomas M. Jubak. The two were married and settled in Somerville where they raised their family. Bunny always said it was love at first sight, the two had a profound devotion to each other every day of the 68 years they were married.
The Jubak’s enjoyed annual trips to Hilton Head South Carolina, Florida, and the Jersey shore. Bunny was a devoted wife and mother. Those who knew her knew that her family was paramount to her. Spending time cheering them on at sports events, watching the Yankees and Golden State Warriors, she would cheer the loudest. Most people who met Bunny said she had a spark and once you met her, she became a friend for life.
Mrs. Jubak went back to work for the Somerset County Welfare Board in Somerville for over twenty years before her retirement. She was a parishioner of The Church of The Immaculate Conception in Somerville where she was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. Mrs. Jubak was a former officer and member of The Ladies Auxiliary of Engine Company No. 1 in Somerville. She was a big supporter of her husband’s volunteer work with the Somerville Elks.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas M. Jubak earlier this year, her dear son Tommy, and her loving brother and sister-in-law Frank and Veronica Dudash; and sister-in-law Anna Balog and nephew Tommy Balog.
Surviving are her devoted daughter, Karen Jubak, cherished grandson Daniel Jubak and loyal dog Spirit, her loving niece Diane Dudash, brother-in-law George Balog; as well as her extended family and community friends.
