Chester J. Sowa, beloved husband of 65 years to Rose (Bracca) Sowa, died December 21 at Somerset Medical Center. Chester was born in Bound Brook and retired as a foreman for Silvray in Bound Brook where he worked for 40 years. After retirement, he became a stock clerk at Continental Can, Piscataway, for 5 years retiring there in 1988. His memberships and pastimes included St. Mary's Leisure Club of Bound Brook, the Immaculate Conception Church of Somerville, playing the lottery,especially the rub-offs, photography, watching the NY Mets and Giants, trips to AC, horse racing and most notably writing his book. He was predeceased by his siblings Joseph, Frank and Walter Sowa, Alice Lamastra, Lena Stashak and Josephine Kopicki. Surviving besides his wife Rose are his devoted daughter Sandra Stein (husband John) of Middlesex and his special grandchildren Kelly (Stein) Magee (husband Arthur) , Amy Stein (boyfriend Drew English) and several nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Thursday, December 27 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visiting hours from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday, December 26, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville
