Charles William Drastura, age 91, entered into eternal rest on March 15, 2021, at the Center For Hospice in Scotch Plains, surrounded by his family. He was born and lived in Bayonne before moving to Bridgewater. He served with the Air National Guard in his earlier years and was employed by ExxonMobil Research and Engineering as an Environmental Coordinator and Supervisor, where he retired in 1986.

Charles was an unconditional volunteer throughout his life. In his hometown of Bayonne, NJ he donated his time to the Boy Scouts, Mt Carmel Church, Mount Carmel Lyceum, and Exxon annuitants club. He ushered for Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville and was a respected member of the Somerville Elks where he was honored by becoming Elk-of-the-Year in 2009.

He was predeceased by his wife Claire (nee-Wieszczek), his brother Robert Drastura, and sister, Marion Hahn.

Charles is survived by his sons, Charles W Drastura III and his wife Jenny, Stephen W Drastura and his wife Doreen, and four grandchildren, Kimberly Cannizzaro and her husband Christian, Christopher Drastura, Adam Drastura, and Kevin Drastura.

Visiting hours 5pm-8pm on Friday, March 19, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Saturday, March 20, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
