Hillsborough
Cecelia Rita (Gaval) Yost, 91 years old, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020 at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was surrounded by her two daughters Donna and Cindy Yost.
Cecelia was born in Pennsylvania on March 13, 1929 to Walter Gaval and MaryTaris Gaval. She graduated from Delano High School in 1946. She married William J. Yost in 1949 and moved to Hillsborough in 1957, where together they built a home and raised their three children.
Cecelia was a dedicated employee for almost 40 years at RCA in Bridgewater. She loved her job and all the excellent friends that she met there. After retiring from RCA she worked at various banks in Hillsborough for another 15 years.
Cecelia was very much loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Marie Yost and Cindy Mary Yost. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Wiliam G. Yost in 2014. She has five beloved grandchildren: Kellyanne Baehr and her husband Derek who live in Florida with her two beloved great grandchildren Mackenzie and Gabrielle Baehr. Her other four beloved grandchildren are: Shannon Plaster and his wife, Ana; and Alison, Paige, and Kiera Kennette. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Henrietta Honorowski of Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Mickey and Francey.
Ceil will be remembered for many things: her beautiful hazel eyes, contagious smile, love for her children and all extended family, her very strong work ethic (she loved to clean), her cooking skills especially making the best potato cheese pierogies in the world, and most of all for being a loving mother and Nana.
