Carolyn L. Yurowski Khoury, a resident of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on April 14, 2011. She was born in 1919 in Whitehouse, NJ. Carolyn was a graduate of Flemington High School and Overlook School of Nursing. She joined the Army Nurses Corps and was stationed in England during World War II. After the war, Captain Yurowski became a nurse at the Veteran’s Administration Supply Depot in South Somerville where she met and married her husband, Charles, who predeceased her. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a brother, Edmund Yurowski of Freehold and a sister, Isabel Brown of Brick, a son, James and daughter-in-law Joie of Palm Coast, FL and two daughters, Maryanne (Dennis) Dziki and Teresa, also of Palm Coast. She was grandmother to Zackery Khoury of St. Augustine, FL and Daniel Khoury, Lauren Dziki Hyde, and Kristen Dziki Jones all of Palm Coast. She was beloved by her four greatgrandsons, Drew Jones, Bryan Jones, Ryan Jones and Joshua Hyde, all of Palm Coast. She also leaves family all over the country, her dear sister-in-law, Lee Marcinuk, and many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn loved to garden, played a mean hand of bridge, and enjoyed time with her family. She made the world’s best apple pie and the little ones fondly dubbed her “Cookie Gramma”. Her joy was having all of her family around her and sharing their lives. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 2:30pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville
